We’re delighted to be improving financial wellbeing, mental health and suicide prevention within sport...

case study:
West ham UNITED fc

As part of the Financial Wellbeing Month Campaign and not-for-profit FWWC CIC, we’re empowering healthier relationships with money and mental health for U16-U23 players at West Ham United FC.

It's brilliant to see that West Ham will also be supporting players who have been released with a three year financial education, wellbeing and mental health package.

West Ham have also implemented life saving technology via the R;pple Suicide Prevention Charity at their Academy and on the wi-fi network at their London Stadium.

WHAT ARE WEST HAM DOING?

After an introduction presentation at West Ham’s training ground, players can access the FinWELL Hub and start to build their knowledge, understanding and confidence around money matters throughout life’s financial journey.

This gives them access to trusted education, guidance and support in their own time and at their own pace.

The FinWELL Hub enables them to:

  1. Establish their FinWELL MoneyScore & Action Plans

  2. Set personal FinWELL Goals & Challenges

  3. Access Educational Content including videos, articles, guides and podcasts

  4. Attend live and online Group Masterclasses covering a range of topics themes

  5. Book 1-1 Financial Guidance Sessions

  6. Learn more about existing Employee Benefits

LEADERSHIP & AWARENESS TRAINING

They have also started implementing CPD Certified Leadership and Champion Training linking Financial Wellbeing, Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Awareness.

This up-skills key people internally so they can go on to support colleagues at the workplace.

lIFE SAVING TECHNOLOGY

West Ham have even gone one step further by implementing life saving technology from the R;pple Suicide Prevention Charity.

This technology intercepts harmful searches online and has been put on devices as-well as across wi-fi networks at the training ground and London Stadium.

So far 32 peopl have come forward to say that they are still with us because R;pple’s technology intervened at their most vulnerable moment.

R;pple’s life saving technology has also been implemented by Bristol City FC, Sunderland FC, The FA and also Warwickshire Cricket Club at their Edgbaston Stadium.

“We’re delighted to be supporting those connected to west ham around financial education and mental health.“
